We are excited that you are interested in the civilian activities for the 2007 September Storm reenactment! We hope that you will join us in our civilian camp, as well as participate in the many exciting activities we have planned for the weekend. All too often, events leave civilians with nothing to do but cook and sit around; but here we have a great opportunity to make more of civilian reenacting. Together, we can make this a success for civilian reenactors.

We will be setting aside a first person camping area within the civilian camp. When in this area, participants are expected to be in full first person at all times. You may still participate in first person even if you choose not to camp in this area. First person will not be limited to this area, you are free to participate in this manner anywhere during the event. We encourage all first person interpreters to interact with one another and the public as well. We also ask that everyones wishes to participate or not participate in first person be respected at all times and to be considerate and understanding of these wishes. On that same note please do not purposely disrupt a persons first person engagement unless absolutely necessary.

We are happy to present this years participants with wide range of activities that we hope you will find enjoyable. All civilian activities will also be open to any military members who wish to participate. Below we have listed the offered activities for the weekend.

SATURDAY

8:00 - 10:30 Gaming Session:
A designated area will host Civil War era games open to all reenactors. These Games include Trap Ball, Quoits, Lawn Bowling, Shuttlecock, Tug
of War and many others. This is a great way to experience another aspect in the culture of the 1860's, get some exercise, and have a good time with friends and family.

11 am:
Pie-tasting contest: Bake a period-pie and put them to the taste of our judges taste buds. A panel of judges will decide the winners. Winner will win a $15 gift certificate form a vendor. $10 gift certificate to second place and $5 gift certificate to third. Location: Gaming Area

12:30 First Person Seminar:
We will have several guest speakers discussing first person interpretation including but not limited too Mrs. Terri Lehmer. Discussion topics will range from what first person is to how to develop your own character and more. We will have activities to let the audience participate and take their best shot at first person. All are welcome. Location: Field by Civilian camp; bring a blanket to sit on.

1:30 - 4 Craft Session:
Free. Participants should bring their own crafts (crocheting, knitting, needle point, spinning, candle making, etc) and share your expertise with others. This would be an wonderful opportunity for a non-craft person to learn these activities. This is a self motivated activity; you can make as much or as little as this as you would like. Participants should meet near the gaming area and you may come or go at any time you like. Location: Civilian Camp

3:30 - 7 Gaming Session: See Above.
