This event will recreate the historic 1862 march of elements A.P. Hill’s famous Light Division from Harpers Ferry to Sharpsburg, Maryland. While we will not cover the eighteen miles in eight hours like Hill’s men did, we will try to give participants a realistic campaign experience following the original route across the Potomac with an overnight bivouac in the most beautiful and historic region of Maryland and West Virginia.
We will portray two units for the march, Company A, Lynch’s Creek Guards, 14th South Carolina and Company F, The Scotch Boys, 18th North Carolina.
We hope you will join us as we preserve history and pay homage to the veterans of Hill’s Corps. |
