1. Uniform wear will be appropriate jean uniform for 1862 and will mirror the guidelines for the September Storm event.

2. This is a 15 plus mile march. The last four miles are up hill. Ask those who went five years ago. Prepare yourself physically for the march.

3. This is a campaign event. Knapsacks and blanket rolls are appropriate. We will have a limited number of tent flies available at the camp site in the event of rain only.

4. Travel light. Remember, your knapsack can hold more than you can carry.

5. No hat brass or chords. However, for the S.C. troops there is documented evidence of brass palmetto pins on jackets and hats. Woven palmetto’s fronds pinned to a hat are also appropriate.

6. Water will be provided during the march. Canteens are required.

7. Period shoes are required.

8. We will have a chase vehicle for water storage and for emergencies.

9. The bivouac site will be on private property. Please respect the landowner and leave the site as you found it.

10.  No caps or powder will be permitted during the march. The National Park Service will not allow this on government property. Rifles and accoutrements will be inspected.  Only three banded muskets or rifles will be allowed.

11. Participants must register, pay the registration fee and agree to all rules, guidelines and the liability release.
