You are invited to participate with the Chesapeake Volunteer Guard this coming April and give honor to the American Citizen Solider who has defended his country for hundreds of years.

The Citizen Soldier is set in Old Fort Washington, with the guiding impression as 1859 Militia. The impression is a very easy and fun one, and most of you already have everything you need to pull it off.

All the participants will be housed in Barracks and Casemates in the Fort, and “hired” civilians will help with the logistics for the Weekend.

The manual of instruction for the event is Hardee’s 1862, Revised. Yes I know the impression does not fit the drill, but since we are moving into the 1863 cycle, it is best to drill the manual we will use the most.

We will also be helping interpret this period of our History as part of the Fort’s Annual Lantern Tour held Saturday Evening.
